This family reached out asking if I could do an outdoor newborn session at Ute Valley Park. Of course I said yes! I was actually super excited about this one, since I don’t do many outdoor newborn photos. Most of my newborn sessions take place at the studio, and I also provide lifestyle sessions at clients’ homes. But, while new baby pictures are traditionally done indoors, there’s nothing to say we can’t do them outside as long as the weather is cooperative and we take proper precautions. As a Colorado Springs newborn photographer, the safety and comfort of your little one is always my first priority!
Thankfully, the month of August in Colorado brings fantastic temperatures and weather! Since newborns like to be warm, conditions were perfect for baby to feel comfortable. She did great!
Ute Valley Park has some gorgeous sunflowers this time of year. They added such a fun pop of color and were the perfect touch for our baby girl newborn photo session. I was so pleased with how everything worked out!
No matter what type of newborn photography session you choose, you’ll have access to my entire inventory of baby outfits, wraps, and accessories. And as you can see, no matter what the setting, my style remains the same. I like to get a mix of naturally posed baby images as well as lifestyle images with parents (and other family members if applicable). And I am all about soft colors like we used in this outdoor newborn session at Ute Valley Park. They go with everything (even those bright yellow sunflowers!) and are just perfect for little ones as they convey the gentleness and warmth that is part of welcoming a new baby to your family.
If my newborn photography style resonates with yours, and if you’re ready for baby pictures that are uniquely you, I hope you’ll be in touch! Photographing babies and families is one of the great joys of my life—and it’s made all the more special knowing that these photos will be treasured heirlooms in your family for years to come.
