FAQ
If I had to describe my style in three words, they’d be natural, fun, and true-to- color. I aim to capture a mix of both classic “everyone looking at the camera” moments and more candid, “no one looking at the camera” shots. My editing is subtle and minimal, preserving the true essence of the scene and its colors. I avoid altering skin tones or desaturating the image too much. Instead, I focus on gently softening skin and hair, while enhancing warmth, brightness, and vibrancy.
My approach to newborn photography is rooted in traditional, lifestyle imagery rather than posed, studio photography. This means that most of the “poses” I capture involve your baby being held, snuggled, or resting in a relaxed position—whether in your arms, on the bed, in the crib, or on a blanket.
I don’t use intricate posing techniques like the froggy or bum-up poses. However, I do bring a variety of props, including swaddles, layering blankets, hats, bows, and floral headbands, as well as a lighting stand if needed. If this relaxed, natural style sounds like a good fit for you, I’d love to work together!
If you’d prefer not to have the photos taken in your home, I also have access to a stunning natural light studio.
I recommend reaching out as early as possible to secure a spot on my photography schedule. I accept a limited number of sessions each month, and during peak seasons like summer and fall, my calendar can fill up several months in advance. That said, if you’re in need of a session on short notice, don’t hesitate to contact me—cancellations and reschedules do happen, and I’m often able to accommodate last-minute bookings!
The total turnaround time for getting your final, edited images back is 2-3 weeks (sooner for mini sessions).
If the weather includes strong winds, heavy rain, or thunderstorms, I will reach out as soon as possible to reschedule. My goal is for everyone to enjoy the session and the outdoors, not to be inconvenienced by bad weather. Beautiful weather and a bit of sunshine can really enhance the experience!
Once you’ve booked your session, you’ll receive a detailed style guide to help you choose the perfect outfits. Additionally, I’ve written several blog posts with seasonal wardrobe ideas, offering plenty of inspiration for what to wear throughout the year.
Yes! With years of experience photographing across Colorado Springs, Peyton, Monument, and Woodland Park, I’ve developed a strong sense of which locations complement my style, especially for sunset family photos. Based on your preferences, I’d be happy to suggest a few locations that would be a perfect fit for your session.
Your session includes a print release and the option to print wherever you’d like. However, I highly recommend printing through your photographer for the best results!
I do! Clients who opt for film appreciate the nostalgic look and subtle imperfections in their images. I offer film as an add-on, or do entire sessions on film, by request.
If you cancel your session, your deposit will not be refunded. However, you can reschedule as many times as needed and I will just apply your deposit towards the reschedule date.
