During the cold months in Colorado, it’s nice to have an indoor option for portraits. I love a snowy backdrop as much as anyone, and playing in the snow is one of my favorite things ever, but for lifestyle maternity photos I think a little more warmth and comfort is called for!
This mama-to-be already knew she wanted indoor pictures to capture her pregnancy. And I was so glad we were planning a studio maternity shoot, because on the day of her session it was absolutely freezing!
Cozy Lifestyle Maternity Photos
This mama also knew exactly what she wanted as far as style and aesthetics, which I love! She showed me some inspiration photos she found on Pinterest, which made it really easy for me to style the session around her ideas. She was hoping for laid-back and cozy lifestyle maternity photos, and she also wanted to do some photos in a black dress against a white background. I knew the perfect location!

Kindle Studios is one of my favorite places to use as a Colorado Springs maternity photographer. They have some great lifestyle setups, neutral color tones, and gorgeous natural light, which makes it perfect for combining the lifestyle look with the professionalism of a dedicated studio. And yes, the studio even has some white walls, so we could get the exact images we wanted.
We utilized several pieces of furniture for this session, including the studio’s lifestyle bedroom setup, egg chair, and leather stool. Furniture really helps to give your maternity photos that comfy, relaxing-at-home look. Proof that indoor maternity photos can be just as beautiful as outdoor—and so much cozier for the winter months!
