I’m so excited to share the images from this winter family photoshoot in Woodland Park, Colorado! Winter family photos are some of my favorites, and they’re especially beautiful here where we have some of the best scenery in the country—and where you can actually get a white Christmas most of the time!
This family booked me for an extended family session during the week of Thanksgiving at their private ranch in Woodland Park. Some of the family members were here from Florida and everyone was spending the holiday together. No better time to get updated family pictures!
I was giddy to accept their booking, especially since it had just snowed. I knew it was going to be beautiful! I also love shooting at private residences, because it allows for such an intimate and fun photoshoot experience with lots of customization.
When I arrived at their property they were so sweet as they welcomed me into their home. Such a fun group of people. I bet they had a blast together enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday—we sure had fun during their family photoshoot! We briefly discussed the area where we might take photos, and settled on this beautiful, snow-covered area with a vintage cabin that has been on the property since the early 1900s. So cool! The building really added to the overall mood and rustic vibe of the photoshoot.
And if you’re needing winter family session outfit inspiration, look no further! This family really nailed the styling aspect of this shoot and I loved everything they chose for outfits. The blacks and grays gave us a strong contrast with the snow and made everyone stand out. A few family members also added in some plaid and it was just perfect!
