Expectant mamas often ask me, “When is the best time to schedule a maternity photoshoot?”
In 7+ years as a Colorado based family photographer, I’ve learned some tricks. Including the answer to this great question! I’ve found that early to mid third trimester, between 30-36 weeks, is a sweet spot for taking maternity photos.
By 30 weeks most women have an adorable round belly but are still feeling pretty good and have the energy to get out and about. I definitely recommend not waiting too late, just in case your baby wants to make an early arrival.
Another great option for a maternity photoshoot is shortly after finding out that you are pregnant. These are perfect for announcing your pregnancy or doing a fun gender reveal. Sonogram pictures and including any siblings (including the furry ones) help make these extra special!
I love doing maternity pictures and newborn photoshoots as well! It’s so special as a photographer to be invited into these sweet moments and trusted with the honor of capturing life-long memories. When you reach out, be sure to ask me about bundling your maternity and newborn sessions for a discounted rate!
