I love doing festive Christmas mini sessions for my families every year! It’s become a tradition that I look forward to—and I know my families do too because I see so many of the same faces each year, plus new ones every time!
Since I do have so many families rejoin me each year, I try to pick different places to keep things new and interesting. This year, I decided to try out Forest Bend Farm, a family-owned and operated Christmas experience that gives families a fun and unique way to celebrate the holiday season.
Each year during the holiday season they have fun indoor activities for kids and families and hot chocolate inside the barn, plus outdoor activities like hayrides, fire pits, and lights.
This was my first year photographing families at Forest Bend Farm, so I visited beforehand and took some pictures to scope out the property before it was fully decorated. I loved what I saw, and this year’s Christmas minis turned out so great! The owners are incredibly nice and I think it’s wonderful that they allow photographers like me to use the property for portrait sessions before the start of their busy season.
My families and I made so many fun memories together! There were way too many pictures to choose from, so I put together a few collages with some of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them!
As is usual for Colorado Springs, the first weekend of November was pretty warm so everyone had a chance to enjoy walking around the farm. My favorite features were the truck, tractor, and characteristic red barn. The wreaths added a perfect finishing touch!
