Before we say goodbye to summer I just wanted to share these beautiful summer family photos I took recently in Castle Rock, CO!

This session was so beautiful from start to finish. There are so many pretty places around this area, it can make it hard to choose just one! We decided to do this shoot in the Castle Pines neighborhood, which provided a lovely setting filled with bright flowers, aspen trees, and gorgeous filtered sunlight.
I love doing family photos close to sunset because the light is just perfect at that time. Depending on the age of your kiddos, this can sometimes be close to bedtime, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead for that and maybe do a later than usual afternoon nap before your session.
This baby girl was about 4 months old, and although it was getting near her bedtime she was super happy and gave us so many smiles. I wish I could take full credit for this, but special thanks go to Grandma and Grandpa, who were standing behind me to get her attention!
Mom had requested a bright and colorful look for these beautiful summer family photos in Castle Rock, CO. Usually I go for a more true-to-life, earth-toned look, but I adjusted my editing process just a bit to brighten up the background and add some extra vibrancy into our images. I love how they turned out! This strategy really brought out the sunny contrast between the yellow flowers and the shades of blue in this family’s outfits.
