I hope everyone’s new year is off to a wonderful start! December was an especially busy month for me, so I’m enjoying getting back into the swing of things after the holidays—including catching up on a few blog posts!
I did something a little different at the end of last year and decided to offer a mini session date for winter family photos in December. I was hoping this would ensure that families who maybe weren’t able to attend one of my main mini sessions in November still had a chance to get some holiday photos at the last minute.

I had a few families take me up on the offer, so I’m super glad I decided to open up this extra day! It was fun-filled and absolutely beautiful. While it wasn’t actively snowing that day, I was thrilled that we had gotten some snowfall the day before. It adds such a festive sparkle when photographing in the Black Forest.

I’m always so impressed with how beautifully my clients style their outfits, and these sessions were no exception. It was a fairly warm winter day for family photos in Colorado Springs, which meant it was the perfect chance to wear a festive dress or comfy flannel shirt without needing to be fully decked out in winter gear.

Love how all of these wintertime family portraits turned out!
