This was such a beautiful in-home newborn session in Denver. Baby girl was the sweetest thing and it’s clear that her big brother and sister just dote on her. Of course, with that adorable face, how could you not?
And that hair! I’m always so amazed by babies who have thick, luxurious hair as newborns, because my own girls didn’t really start growing a lot of hair until they were over 2 years old! All babies are different, and I enjoy seeing that even from the very earliest age.
As a Colorado lifestyle photographer, I always love visiting clients’ homes and being able to capture memories in their own familiar space. An at-home session is always a beautiful choice for newborn photos, but particularly so when there are other children in the family. It’s just so much easier for kids to be somewhere they already feel comfortable while we take photos.
The most common places to do newborn photos in your home are the nursery and master bedroom. This family chose to do most of our session in the master bedroom, which worked out wonderfully. I love the cute photos of the whole family snuggling together on the bed! They also had a portable crib which gave us more of a nursery feel for some of our pictures, while still allowing big brother and sister to sit on the bed and easily interact with the new baby.
This home was naturally well-lit and had the most gorgeous neutral tones throughout. I always bring a fill flash with me just in case the home’s natural light isn’t quite enough, but it wasn’t needed for this session. I just love all of the sweet images from this beautiful in-home newborn session!
